Going down Gas prices were at a new low $1.989 Thursday morning at Melrose gas stations. Statewide, the lowest Thursday was $1.86 per gallon at Dilworth and Moorhead. Highest in the state was First Fuel Bank in St. Cloud at $2.37 per gallon, followed by $2.29 per gallon at International Falls. Gas prices a week ago in Minnesota were $2.068; a month ago $2.793; and one year ago $3.105. Nationwide, gas a week ago averaged $2.309 compared to $2.1712 on Thursday. A month ago U. S. gas averaged $3.136; and one year ago the price averaged $2.761.
